It’s 2016! A new beginning and new resolutions after much evaluating of the prior year. One being coming into blogging world more often. I’ve been away awhile. Tonight ends my winter break and I’ve had a chance to recharge and refuel! It was wonderful!
My day ends with a daily devotion of PRAISE. Praise can be song, words, dance, writing, poems, stories, testimony! I will begin my year with words and songs of praise. As I write in my journal which I’ve finished tonight, and ready to begin a new one, my spirit rejoices when I meditate on what praise means. It means to fill with joy for tomorrow, for work, for the weak and the struggling– to be strong for them. To be the light of the world they need, we need, our town needs, our country, our world needs! We need it, cannot be without it, it’s a gift, it’s amazing!
So let’s write a story, a poem, a song, and hug a friend. It’s a great way to begin the new year! It will be great!
I have edited and made some changes to my “About the author” page. It’s a little more current but ALMOST the same. I’ve used some of the photo tools I’ve learned on Photo101. I hope you enjoy! About Rey.
I am happy with today’s assignment that makes me go back and rethink my blog’s title and tagline. I am happy with my title most definitely. The beach and summer is a symbol and time of my writing for me. I did change my tagline, however, but I will still think a bit more. I want something a little more catchy, short but uniquely me. For now my writing is a “come as I am” kind of blog, very personal I think. This summer it will be more prompt related but in a “blog-improvement-kinda-way” so it’s good. I look forward to more!
I am excited to participate in this blogging workshop! It is a summer beginning for me. Summers are my favorite time because it seems to be the time I have lots more writing time. I am here to refresh my learning from last summer. I also participated in a similar workshop, ZERO TO HERO, but did not keep up as I would have liked. I did learn a lot from that series but did not practice enough. I hope to relearn and learn more here! I look forward to meeting others cyberly on this same journey perhaps, and learn from others too.
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Journey.”
To write or not… is my journey. This journey has been going on for about three years or so. In writing, I found a new hobby, excitement, or satisfaction in using words, phrases, pictures, sound and videos in today’s new technology to make my voice heard, to make my feelings felt, to make my visions seen, simply to speak my heart and share.
I can say what I want, how I want, and follow no rules but my own…somewhat. But along the way in this journey , I’ve discovered that I don’t have the time to devote to it. It has been my excuse since the beginning that I cannot continue as regularly as I would like. I recently read an eye-opening, and thought-provoking post here by a WordPress blogger, MBTTTR. He speaks of needing a partner, or co-partner, in writing! But in finishing what he starts because he has innovative and excellent projects, which is what I am. However, following through and finishing, is another story.
Perhaps that is what I am experiencing when I use “time” as my excuse. Perhaps the fact of the matter is, I just can’t finish it! I have tons of stories in my head. Poems that are just waiting to get inspired to be written. I have plenty of passion to go around but to physically make the time to sit and write it for you is another story.
So my journey continues, which is the essence of my blog, Life Is A Beach, a writing journey. A journey to learn, write and share.
I love Mondays! Well, not really. It usually means going back to my weekday hiatus which is always difficult. But on Mondays we can go in jeans and college shirts to promote higher education. It’s a EASE into-the-week ritual. I like it! Easier for me anyways. I’m that kinda blue jean gal!
This is my new post format for Zero to Hero. I inserted YouTube, it was simple. But it is something new than my usual. Thanks for the idea!
My lucky man is going on a trip tomorrow. BooHoo! I love this song because it reminds me of him! Adele’s voice, the lyrics, it’s perfect. Sorry for the mushy-mushy, I’m a hopeless romantic. That’s just how special he is to me.
