“Mom, can we go to the pool, please, please, pleeeeeease!”
It really sounded like squealing nagging at first, but then I made a conscious effort and took some of the advice from a book I have been reading by Gretchen Rubin, and as she put it “enter into the spirit of play”! It was quite “fun” actually. Having fun is one of her solutions to finding true contentment and happiness, hence her book, The Happiness Project. I had a blast with the kids when I took on that persona. As they played, I sat and read my book. The Texas sun was strong today so I felt it scorching as I sat. However, a dip in the pool would cool it off, as well as a game of wet, flying football with the kids. I’m a little darker today with a healthier, warmer brown to my face. And, yes, Gretchen, a little more happier!
